The thing with the Sam/Cas relationship to me, though, is that they are very similar people in many ways, who have a lot in common, situationally and in their general circumstances. It makes so much sense that they would be friends and be close, and Show has just somehow never really provided on that front, but I'm always so glad when it acknowledges the relationship that needs to be there. That scene in the junkyard, for me, made up for the inexplicable not!hug last season, which was os out of character for Sam.
