All I want when I watch this show is to see the brothers do stuff TOGETHER, okay. THIS IS WHY S4 IS THE SEASON I HAVE NEVER REWATCHED. I don't mind them being separated -- if we actually get to see Sam rescue Dean this time that could be great -- what bothers me is that that was one hundred percent completely sterile of emotion. Dean and Sam had no interactions with each other that they couldn't just as well have had with Garth. It was zero intimacy. If next season doesn't bring back the emotion, I'm out of here.

I wanted more emotion between Sam and Dean too, though they did exchange some heartfelt angsty looks when Bobby had to go, and Sam looked horribly lost and wanting to know where Dean was at the end....I'm going to put some faith in Jeremy Carver to allow the brothers some real emotion, as he has in the past, instead of only allowing it between Dean and Cas (the 'safer' choice, maybe....blaugh...) I do like the boys separated and one trying to rescue the other tho, so that has potential.

I was starting to feel a real fondness for this new version of Cas, so I'm sad about that too....

*goes off to rewatch the Impala-before-the-crash-moments and start drafting a SamDean OTP minibang fix-it fic....*

There was a spoiler from Jared (I think at JiB) about a conversation he and Dean had about coping and going on, and that conversation just didn't happen. Granted, Jared spoilers are like talking to a bright, friendly grasshopper on speed, but I can't help thinking that some stuff got cut, that they've been deliberately holding back on the emotion. I mean, Dean and Cas's conversation wasn't all that emotional either, compared to late last season. It seems like some want a more action show feel, and less a family melodrama.

I really, really hope Carver isn't one of them.

On the positive side, they gave us a plot set up which is perfect for angsty feel, they just left it to us to add all the actual, you know, emotion.

On the one hand, I suppose this does give Sam a chance to do what he didn't manage to do at the end of S3 and save Dean? He's going to end up working with Meg, though, isn't he. :/ And I do not know how I feel about that, sigh.

I really, really just want some emotion back in my Show, though, and you're right, Carver has brought that in the past. I keep thinking of Mystery Spot, which is all about the boys being separated and yet they're more all-about-each-other than ever. Yes, let's cling to that. ;)

That's what I keep hoping -- I mean, he gave us A Very Supernatural Christmas and Mystery Spot, which don't shy away from the brothers' love for each other at ALL. Let's hope he can prevail in S8. Tho arghhhhhhhhh no, I do not want Sam working with another demon to try to save Dean :/
