D: I had been kind of spoiled, in that I had seen speculation that this was what might happen, and then checkthemargins and I wailed and rended our garments about it but I thought it was spec with no actual source. And then BAM, no, worst nightmare. Gnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnargh.

All my eggs are currently in the basket of 'last time Carver showed us Sam-without-Dean he wrote the greatest episode of all time', but I don't know how hopeful I am.

I'm thinking about it now and actually I'm kinda okay with that ending. I'm definitely interested in finding out what purgatory is like and I'm lolling at the way Cas just dumped Dean with all the monsters, haha, so much for profound bond.

And there's definitely some potential for crazy mystery spot Sam, so yeah, fic potential for sure. Maybe this time, like everyone's saying, we'll finally get Sam rescuing Dean, and if Sam has to go dark to do that then even better. I love Dark!Sam.

IDK, what do you think? I'm not seeing why the ending is really awful (apart from the boys being apart), and that happens so often in finales that I'm very meh about it now. I mean, I'm liking this way better than the ending to season 5. At least Sam's not going to shack up with Lisa and Ben. Man, I hate that kid.
