TOS, the gift that never stops giving. These are beautiful, thank you for posting.

So many to love, but particularly love, 16, 20,23 and 28.

Great job.

Thank you!

It never does stop giving, does it? I wish there had been eight hundred and seventy nine episodes. :)

If there had been, there would have been no room and no need for RL. Even with only 79 eps and 6 movies we have resource materials for a lifetime.

BTW I am just waiting for my shiny new remastered TOS movies DVDs to arrive on my doorstep...then I will go Icon Mad again myself.

INORITE? This is what I see when I watch them together. It needed to be an icon.

I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND.

CAN I TELL YOU A SECRET IN PUBLIC.

I'VE NOT LISTENED TO ANY LEONARD NIMOY. EVER. EXCEPT THE BALLAD OF BILBO BAGGINS.

AND THIS SONG ON THE FANMIX? IS KIND OF MAKING ME CRY. IT MIGHT BE THE HORRIBLE DAY I'VE HAD, OR THE SHEER 70S BEAUTY, BUT IT MIGHT ALSO BE SHEER NERVOUS JOY THAT AT LEAST I WILL NEVER RECORD THIS SONG.

*FALLS OVER LAUGHING*

YOU KNOW WHAT, BB? THAT'S LIKE, THE ONLY SONG ON WHICH HIS SINGING DOES NOT ACTUALLY LITERALLY SPLIT MY EARS APART WITH AWFUL.

SO HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT NOW?

From: [identity profile] screamlet.livejournal.com
IS IT BECAUSE OF THE OVERWHELMING MARACAS AND SHIT IN THE BACKGROUND? IS THAT WHY? I THINK THAT'S WHY. IT'S LIKE THE GODDAMNED MOOD MUSIC ON COLUMBO. IT'S ALMOST COMFORTING, REALLY, REMINDING ME OF HOME AND MY PETER FALK-ADDICT PARENTS.

HOWEVER, JOHN BARROWMAN'S 'YOU'RE SO VAIN' IS FUCKING GORGEOUS BEYOND FUCKING WORDS AND I MIGHT HAVE TO PUT IT ON LOOP FOREVER.

OVERALL: MOOD = BETTER.

I KNOW, SERIOUSLY. JOHN BARROWMAN. THIS MIX HAS MADE ME LOVE JOHN BARROWMAN'S SINGING. WTF.

BARROWMAN: THE ONLY PERSON AS DELIGHTFULLY RIDICULOUS AS SHATNER.

I DON'T WATCH TORCHWOOD? SO HE IS JUST THIS NEBULOUS GOOD LOOKING GAY CLOUD HOVERING OVER THE UK, EXCEPT NOW HE SINGS AND REALLY, I HAVE JUST DESCRIBED THE IDEAL TREK MONSTER-OF-THE-WEEK.

HEATHEN! DOWNLOAD THOSE ALBUMS I PUT UP, SOME OF THE STUFF IS ACTUALLY QUITE DECENT. MR. SPOCK'S MUSIC FROM OUTER SPACE NEEDS TO BE LISTENED TO, AND THE TOUCH OF LEONARD NIMOY IS ALSO NOT AS EARSPLITTING AS MOST OF HIS OTHER STUFF. AND SOME OF IT IS ACTUALLY PLEASANT SOUNDING, TOO.

AT THE VERY LEAST, IT'LL CRACK YOU THE FUCK UP. FOR THIS I ESPECIALLY RECOMMEND "IF I WERE A CARPENTER".

I DON'T KNOW........ I'M KIND OF TOO SCARRED JUST FROM THIS ONE SONG..... WHAT WAS HE THINKING ANYWAY????

AND MAN, THE ORIGINAL 'IF I WERE A CARPENTER' WAS BAD ENOUGH!!!!

HE WAS IN LOVE WITH BILL AND WROTE THE SONG FOR HIM.

Seriously, though, the thing is? Although a lot of the singing makes me facepalm, and a lot of them are sappy as hell, the intention behind most of the songs he picks makes me love him even more. Like, 90% of them are all about how we as humans need to treat each other better and should seek harmony and love and understanding. He's such an idealist, it makes my equally idealistic core GLOW with love. Also, his version of "Abraham Martin and John" is actually really good, if you ignore the trumpets.

SEE, I HAVE LISTENED TO THAT SONG ABOUT EIGHTY MILLION TIMES IN MY LIFE AND NEVER REALISED IT IS MEANT TO BE ABOUT A BUICK.I THOUGHT HE JUST CALLED IT THAT TO BE PRETENTIOUS AND CONFUSING.

DID YOU JUST CALL DYLAN PRETENTIOUS? SHIT MAN, DYLAN'S POETIC, NOT PRETENTIOUS.

LOOK UP THE LYRICS, IT TOTALLY IS.

:D

I love Dylan, don't get me wrong. I actually wrote RPS about Dylan, I love him that much. He was my fandom for about two years. But he is delightfully pretentious. On purpose. I saw an interview once where he talked about how in the 60's, he used to write pretentious stuff that meant literally nothing, just to see whether the reviewers would still say it was excellent. And they did, of course.

ALTHOUGH, YOU KNOW, HE'S PRETENTIOUS IN A DYLAN WAY SOMETIMES. BUT MOSTLY I'M TOO OVERWHELMED BY HIS WORDSMITHING TO APPLY THE TERM PRETENTIOUS.
