WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, SHOW?
Bad quality? Awful plot (when there is one)? Brothers being dumb and needed to be explained everything by secondary characters? Brothers NOT being together most of the time? Pacing, what pacing? Too many fillers and practically zero mythology? Emotions (what is that again)? AHgHHHHhHhHhHHHHH!!!!

And I don't want to talk about the production design and the photography. It's filmed like a bad episode of Angel! I miss the greenish tones of the first seasons.

Absolutely. And the thing is, I might be able to forgive it more if it looked good. It used to be a beautiful show when it wanted to be, and recently it's all just looked like a school play as shakily filmed by someone's dad. All the sets are horrible, the direction is clunky (lots of people just...standing around) and just. I miss the days when it had this beautiful ode-to-America vibe, all wide outdoor shots and sky.

Lol things are getting more and more lo-fi, eventually the characters will be moving around a giant empty warehouse and we'll have to imgaine the set and props. I hope to god some the the spn-vibe come back next season, or hell, any vibe.

Maybe the network moving them back to wednesdays will mean they also get some more budget to work with?

This - they were showing S1 on the screens at A8 and, ugh, that was a bad idea because it was just SO beautiful and the boys were amazing, and it just made me sadder about the finale and the lack of beautiful cinematography and ugh. I miss that.

I didn't have quite that negative a response, but you are SO right about the look of the show, and the pacing/editing/etc. No one directed like Kim Manners, honestly. But in Show's sort-of defense, the network told Serge Ladouceur (director of photography and then some!) years ago the show couldn't be so dark; they had to make it more colorful. (Here's the interview.)

What what? Um, what part of supernatural horror did the network not understand?

I have lots of fingers crossed that Carver is allowed to push some envelopes and resurrect some of those things that made us fall in love with the show to begin with.
